We’re proud to announce that CarpeCarbon has been awarded funding through InnoSocialMetro, an initiative by the Metropolitan City of Turin aimed at supporting innovative small businesses that generate socially and environmentally positive impact.
Thanks to this program, we have secured approximately €50,000 in non-repayable funding, which will cover 50% of the costs of developing a digital twin of our Direct Air Capture (DAC) system and a laboratory-scale prototype.
This milestone represents a crucial step forward in the transition from research to real-world implementation.
The project spans three core areas of CarpeCarbon’s R&D efforts, each of which will directly inform the development of our first DAC pilot plant:
-
Phase 1 – Digital Twin Development
A virtual replica of our CO₂ capture system to simulate, optimize and scale the technology efficiently and sustainably. -
Phases 2 & 3 – Laboratory Prototyping
Building and testing a small-scale physical prototype to validate key components and processes. -
Phase 4 – Adsorbent Material Development
Research and optimization of the material that captures CO₂ from ambient air—one of the most critical components of our system.
“A digital twin and a lab-scale prototype for the first pilot DAC plant in Italy: a young startup steps up to turn research into reality and capture CO₂.”
The InnoSocialMetro program supports initiatives that help transform the local economy into a more equitable, sustainable, and resilient system. We’re thrilled to be part of this transition and grateful for the opportunity to contribute to climate innovation in our region.
Stay tuned as we bring the future of carbon removal one step closer to reality.
